About Ostium

Ostium Labs is building the first on-chain perpetuals DEX for trading Real World Assets. Our trader-focused platform enables direct on-chain exposure to commodities, forex, and blue-chip crypto assets, with indices, fixed income and real estate down the line. V1 will operate under a fully synthetic model at launch, backed by a collective USDC pool on Arbitrum with parallels to the GLP model. Future evolutions will feature progressive integration of tokenized off-chain assets as stakeable tokens in the pool (e.g. indices, treasuries, credit, more). For further context, this recently published piece by @ChainLinkGod lays out the imperative for increasing integration of off-chain assets into DeFi better than anything else we’ve seen.

We raised $3.5M+ in our seed round this spring and are building towards a Q4 testnet deployment. We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Smart Contract Engineer with experience building and scaling decentralized exchanges or lending protocols to join our growing team. You’ll be joining at an inflection point in our development and have the opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the implementation of our v1. Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy Solidity smart contracts on Arbitrum and other EVM L2s
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including our CTO, smart contract, and full-stack developers to iterate on protocol architecture and design
• Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of the smart contract code through unit testing and code reviews
• Maintain and work towards future iterations of the protocol
• Help lead development timeline, including the creation of project plans, sprints, and milestones, and the tracking of progress against those plans

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Solidity smart contract development, including DEX or lending protocol architecture design
• Deep knowledge of smart contract security vulnerabilities and best practices for avoiding them
• Strong understanding of the DeFi ecosystem, including knowledge of other blockchain platforms and protocols
• Knowledge of economics of AMMs, CLOBs and other liquidity architectures in DeFi
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
